Why Your Content Isn't Hitting (And How to Fix It)
Your content isn’t bad—it’s just not built for today’s audience.
First of all - apologies on the delay in getting this out! It’s been a crazy few weeks, and I’m behind on everything in my life at the moment. Thank you for understanding! I’m working on a process so this won’t be a regular occurrence.
Ever feel like you’re doing everything right on social... and still not seeing the numbers you want? You’re not alone. Even great brands hit a wall sometimes.
Here’s the truth: It’s not always about your content being “bad.”
It’s often because the way people consume content has shifted—and your strategy hasn’t shifted fast enough with it.
Most engagement slumps come from one (or more) of these issues:
Not adapting to new audience behaviors
Relying too heavily on outdated formats
Missing the emotional or conversational connection that audiences crave now
Good news? You can spot (and fix) most of these gaps with a few quick checks.
5 Fast Content Audits You Can Run This Week:
1. Are your hooks strong enough?
The first 1–2 seconds matter more than ever.
Scroll your last 5 posts. Would they make you stop scrolling if you didn’t know your brand? If not, your hook needs sharpening.
2. Are your captions working hard enough?
Captions aren’t just optional add-ons anymore—they're part of your storytelling.
Check: Are you telling a mini-story, making it personal, or creating a reason to engage (comment/save/share)?
3. Is your CTA (call to action) clear—and natural?
If you're only asking people to "buy now" or "click the link," you’re missing chances to nurture.
Mix it up: Ask them to save a tip, DM you a keyword, or tag a friend.
4. Are your formats aligned with how people are consuming?
If you’re still leaning mostly on static graphics or long videos without edits... that's a problem.
Right now, short-form video, storytelling Reels, and swipeable carousels are what’s pulling people in.
5. Are you leading with conversation instead of broadcasting?
Brands that act more like creators (showing their face, telling stories, posting “relatable” moments) are outperforming those who only post promos or polished ads.
If you’re not sparking conversations, you're missing where the algorithm is moving.
